Life’s Meaning

To Me

Life comes from the symbiosis of two cells—two cells that created me, Anechy Padron, the author of this blog. Or should I call myself the creator of this micro-universe, my creative world?

This Week

Recently, I transitioned between places, moving from the sea to the middle of North Carolina. The rolling hills and lush vegetation invite me into another stage of life. For how long? I don’t know.

What is clear to me is that wherever I go, I will have my watercolor palette, my journals, and a comforting book. Lucky me! I will also have the company of my love and Maya, the wonder dog.

Technical Things

My website is currently undergoing some necessary maintenance. If something isn’t working quite right, please feel free to reach out to me on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. I tend to use Facebook Messenger most often, but I do try to check all my inboxes regularly.

Book by My Side

This week, I finished reading Theo of Gold by Allen Levi. Oh my, I cried and wept like I haven’t wept over a book in a very long time. Here is the message I sent to a friend who is borrowing it next:

“It is beautiful. It’s hard to tell if the author painted or composed this novel. But I’ve been crying for a while now, just to let you know. To me, it is a book so filled with the kindness we need in the world right now. So much beauty. It’s easy to fall in love with Theo—they just don’t make men like him anymore. I think you will love it. Just make sure you have Sylvie [their pup] to hold you through the end of the book.”

Now, I’m reading The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali.

Meanwhile

As the August 8th fair in Beaufort, NC, gets closer, I’m busy working on the final details. Let me show you what I will have available for sale (besides my books!):

Watercolor magnet mandalas in shadow boxes.

Hand-painted butterflies.

Crochet bookmarks by Olivia Moreno.

Watercolor travel palettes (perfect for road-trip journaling).

“Messages in a shell” to give away with every purchase.

Thank-you cards by Anechy Padron (hand-drawn, 100% AI-free).

In Process

I have a poetry album in the works! I’m still deciding on the title, but it will definitely serve as a timeline of my life over the last 40 years. Pretty broad, I know.

The inspiration comes from all my Tertulia friends—we all keep writing poetry to share at the Open Mic. Watercoloring and sketching also put a lot of “lyrics” onto my canvases. The album doesn’t have a release date yet, but who says I’m in a hurry?

This Weekend

A major part of our creative process is regenerating our cells and healing from the hardships of life. In my personal experience, art has been a catapult beyond those mundane struggles of “staying alive and sane.”

Because I’ve gotten so much work done since Sunday, I’m going to treat myself to plenty of painting time, maybe a road trip, and a sound bath this coming Sunday.

Au Revoir!

Voilà! Here is my thank-you note to you: Spread the good word and go on to live a beautiful life full of meaning and love.

Remember, creativity is what happens while we are busy working and paying the high expenses of life. Don’t let the mundane things keep you from rejoicing in the creative nature of your existence.

With love,

Anechy Padron
